From Hull to Outfitting: Tracking the Progress of Lazzara’s UHV 100

First Lazzara UHV 100 Hull Hits Water, Marking Milestone

The first hull of Lazzara’s new UHV 100 series has hit the water at the builder’s yard, a visible milestone in the programme that follows the UHV 87 introduced in 2022. The launch underscores Lazzara’s continued emphasis on unusually voluminous hulls and a distinctive profile that visually reads as an extra deck—hence the series name UHV (Ultra High Volume).

This event moves the project from hull construction toward outfitting and systems integration; the vessel will proceed through fit‑out and sea trials before final commissioning. The hull’s completion also establishes the platform for Lazzara to validate the model’s layout, materials and systems under operational conditions.

Ultra-High-Volume Design Delivers 225 GT and 260 m²

In terms of internal volume the UHV 100 is rated at 225 GT, and Lazzara cites approximately 260 m² of interior space complemented by about 125 m² of usable exterior areas. Those figures place the 30.5‑metre yacht in a class of its own for vessels of this length, enabling layouts and amenities typically found on larger yachts.

The UHV concept carries forward the design language of the UHV 87, prioritising broad, full‑bodied sections to maximise onboard volume without increasing length. The result is a platform that offers more functional living area on both main and exterior decks while retaining a displacement hull character.

Aerospace-Grade Composites, Redundancy and Performance

Lazzara has constructed the hulls using aerospace‑grade composite materials chosen for their strength‑to‑weight properties, supporting a 30.5 m length, 7.2 m beam and 1.6 m draft. At half load the displacement is 143 tonnes. The builder has emphasised engineering that includes system redundancy to enhance reliability and safety throughout the vessel’s systems.

Propulsion is provided by twin Volvo Penta D13 engines rated between 800 and 1,000 hp, yielding a provisional top speed of 16 knots. At a slow cruise of 8 knots the UHV 100 has a quoted range of roughly 1,100 nautical miles, a profile aimed at balancing efficiency with comfortable displacement‑hull seakeeping. As Lazzara’s executive vice president David Galante put it, the programme sought to “push beyond conventional limits” in both construction and systems architecture.

Spacious Layout, Amenities and Range Define UHV 100

The UHV 100’s arrangements capitalise on the extra volume: the forward deck is dominated by a large trapezoidal jacuzzi and two lounge areas with transformable sofas that convert between sunbathing and social configurations. Midships features an amidships helm and an upper saloon, while the open aft terrace provides sunpads, sofas and an oval dining table beneath a hardtop.

Guest accommodation and service spaces are arranged to reflect both privacy and operational efficiency. The main deck contains the principal saloon and an owner’s suite occupying the full bow; four guest cabins lie below deck. A cockpit lounge gives access via twin symmetric stairs to a beach lounge with a bar behind the transom and a large swimming platform capable of carrying additional sunpads or a jet ski. Interior finishes emphasise a “chocolate and milk” contrast of dark woods against light textiles, with chrome accents and blue accessories as visual highlights.

The UHV 100’s first hull in the water represents a key step in validating Lazzara’s Ultra‑High‑Volume approach on a 30.5‑metre displacement platform. With 225 GT of volume, aerospace‑grade composite construction, twin Volvo Penta D13 powerplants and a layout that prioritises usable interior and exterior area, the model aims to deliver larger‑yacht amenities in a smaller overall footprint. The programme will move into fit‑out and sea trials next, during which performance, systems redundancy and onboard ergonomics will be proven ahead of delivery.
