Oceanco Debuts 111-Meter Leviathan

Oceanco has introduced the 111-meter diesel-electric motor yacht Leviathan, previously identified as Project Y722, at its shipyard in the Netherlands. The yacht is the result of a partnership between Oceanco and Lateral Naval Architects for its naval architecture, featuring exterior design by Oceanco and interior concepts crafted by Mark Berryman Design.

Design Focused on Efficiency and Crew Comfort

Built at the request of an experienced client, Leviathan was designed with particular attention to efficient operation and crew wellbeing. Crew feedback was considered throughout the yacht’s development, leading to practical features tailored for everyday use. The vessel incorporates durable, low-upkeep materials such as honed stone, natural wool carpets, composite capping rails, and deck surfaces. Full-height glass bulkheads take the place of usual teak decks and polished timber handrails, reducing ongoing maintenance so the crew can concentrate on guest care and vessel management.

Team Effort and Multi-Functional Design

Leviathan’s construction required extensive collaboration between the owner, technical advisors from YTMC, and Y.CO, the management company. More than 2,000 people worked on the yacht, with each contributor’s name etched onto a glass panel in the main staircase in acknowledgment of their role.

With a beam of 17.8 meters, Leviathan is built to support a broad spectrum of uses, from hospitality ventures to research missions. The yacht will soon begin sea trials, with additional technical details and performance information to be revealed at a later date.
